Position Summary

We are hiring for a NCCO - Hydraulic Tadano Rough Terrain 75-100 Ton Operator position with a structured work schedule transitioning from 5/10s (five 10-hour shifts per week) until the outage begins around March 31st, at which point the schedule will shift to 7/12s (seven 12-hour shifts per week).

  • Compensation & Incentives:

    • Night shift (NS) employees will receive an additional $1 per hour on top of the base rate listed in the requisition.
    • Employees who work all assigned hours without absences will be eligible for a $1,000 completion incentive.
    • A $500 incoming incentive is available for those who qualify for per diem.
    • A $5 per hour pay increase will take effect when the outage begins on March 31st.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

•    Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects.
•    Plan all lifts and take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts.
•    Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection.
•    Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers.
•    Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
•    Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators.
•    Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
•    Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.

Qualifications

•    Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
•    Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
•    Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools

Requirements

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, 
so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor 
weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access 
required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and 
maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across 
construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background 
check
