Position Summary

Operates Marsh Buggy w/ Excavator on pipeline work, marsh restoration, levees, dikes and various other dredging projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Places materials and dredge spoils as direct by project engineer or project management.
  • Provides maintenance and upkeep to the equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the project management Follows all company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environment.
  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment on marine or heavy construction projects.
  • Mechanical skills is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to live aboard vessel for full rotation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with craft workers under his/her supervision and management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Requirements

  • TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential (preferred)
  • Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
  • Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders.
  • Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Performs other duties as required.
