Position Summary

Brackendale Utilities is launching an exciting infrastructure improvement project involving the installation of underground utilities, electrical conduits, road paving, and sidewalk restoration.
We are seeking skilled Equipment Operators with a strong background in excavation, grading, and GPS-enabled machinery to support this transformative project.

Experience Level

Minimum of 5 years experience 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators (308–340 size range), dozers (e.g., D5), and other machinery as required.
  • Perform trenching, backfilling, and grading for underground utility installations.
  • Utilize GPS systems (e.g., Trimble, Topcon) for precision grading and site preparation.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with site crews to maintain efficient workflow and meet project timelines.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Assist with site restoration including road and sidewalk finishing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction or utility installation.
  • Proficient in operating excavators ranging from 308 to 340 size class.
  • Experience operating a D5 Dozer, particularly in grading and site prep applications.
  • Comfortable using GPS-enabled equipment for grading and layout; familiarity with Trimble or Topcon systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in active construction zones.
  • Strong understanding of underground utility installation processes and site restoration standards.

Requirements

•    Able to meet all physical requirements. 
•    Must have all required tools
•    Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
•    Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
•    Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
•    Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
