Position Summary
Kiewit is looking for a Maintenance Oiler Journeyman for the META RPL project located in Rayville, LA. The Maintenance Oiler Journeyman will perform onsite daily fueling and lube services, operational checks and minor preventive maintenance services on a variety of heavy construction equipment.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform scheduled fueling and lubrication services to all field equipment and construction machinery.
- Complete preventative maintenance work orders on a wide variety of heavy equipment including backhoes, scrapers, dozers and excavators.
- Inspect equipment and report problems.
- Occasionally may assist heavy equipment mechanics with the replacement of defective or worn parts.
- Maintains accurate truck and equipment inspection and service logs on a daily basis and in accordance to DOT requirements.
- Complies will all applicable DOT rules and regulations.
- Complies with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in regard to disposal and waste.
- Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
- Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Requirements
- At least 1+ years of experience as a Maintenance Oiler.
- Must have hazmat and/or tanker endorsement on CDL.
- Must be able to maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy construction equipment including hydraulic, electric, and power train systems.
Job Details
- Current schedule is 6:00am – 4:30pm, 5 days a week
- $31 per hour
- All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test
Work Environment
- The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
- May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
- Must have required tools
- Licenses (hazmat and/or tanker endorsement on CDL)
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
- Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
