Position Summary

Buckskin Mining Company is a surface coal mine located 10 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming within the Southern Powder River Basin. The mine delivers its coal to numerous customers throughout the United States and has shipped more than 406 million tons of high-quality, low sulfur coal to its customers.

 

Buckskin is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced MSHA Certified Electrician to join its team. Eligible applicant(s) must be able to work safely in a surface coal mine environment while performing duties of this position. This person(s) must have a history of producing quality work with attention to detail and completing the job right the first time. This person(s) must poses the following certifications and experience.  

Certifications

MSHA Electrical certification is required.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Knowledgeable in NEC and MSHA requirements
  2. Able to complete MSHA monthly inspections
  3. Troubleshooting electrical issues on mobile heavy equipment including;
  • Electric drive haul trucks
  • Electric shovels
  • PLC control Systems
  • Light plants
  • Overhead cranes
  • Elevators and Conveyor belts
  • Substations
  • High voltage power distribution systems
  • AC/DC motor maintenance
  • 24 volt electrical systems
  1. Able to maintain office, shop and plant facilities
  2. Must be able to read and follow electrical drawings.
  3. Able to perform job duties safely with minimal supervision and in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies.

Qualifications

•    May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
•    Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
•    Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
•    Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

•    Able to meet all physical requirements. 
•    Must have all required tools
•    Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
•    Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
•    Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
•    Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
