Position Summary
If you're ready to work hard, learn a trade and build a long-term career, Kiewit's Electrical Training Program is a great place to start. As an Electrician Trainee, you'll complete a paid, two-week training program at a Kiewit training facility, where you'll learn to install conduit, cable tray, wiring and other electrical systems used on large industrial construction projects.
You'll earn paid wages while learning from experienced instructors through classroom training, hands-on labs and simulated jobsite exercises. After successfully completing the program, you'll transition into a field role supporting industrial construction projects in the Gulf Coast region, where you'll continue learning alongside experienced craft professionals.
No previous electrical or construction experience is required. We provide the training—you bring the work ethic, willingness to learn and commitment to working safely.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Participate in classroom instruction, hands-on labs and simulated jobsite training.
- Learn electrical fundamentals, OSHA safety practices and proper tool usage.
- Develop conduit bending, conduit installation and layout skills.
- Practice rough-in installation, cable tray installation and branch circuit wiring.
- Learn duct bank installation concepts and grounding system fundamentals.
- Gain introductory experience with fiber optic installation techniques.
- Read and interpret basic construction drawings and layouts.
- Practice safe use of hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment.
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Successfully complete required training assessments and program requirements.
Qualifications
• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
Requirements
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
• Must successfully pass required pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
