POSITION SUMMARY

Kiewit Mining Group is currently seeking highly motivated candidates to join our team at the
Manh Choh Mine located in Tok, Alaska as a Blast Hole Driller. You will need to weld and repair all types of structural steel products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards.

Eligible applicant(s) must be able to work safely in a surface mine environment while performing the duties of this position. This person(s) must be capable of producing quality work with attention to detail and completing the job "right the first time".
 

Starting Hourly Rate: $42.50 (will work and receive OT pay) 

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Able to complete accurate reports.
  • Maintain site security during drilling operations.
  • Operate drilling equipment on smooth to extremely rough conditions.
  • Conduct thorough pre and post shift safety inspections of drilling equipment.
  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner, while following best practices and in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must be able to meet the crew vans at camp.
  • Must possess working knowledge of skills and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and communicate written and oral instructions with management or supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Able to climb, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts on a 2-week on / 1-week off schedule; including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Able to pass a background check in compliance with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and maintain clearance as Employee Possessor.
