Position Summary
Kiewit is looking for Commissioning Instrumentation Technicians for the Elk Valley Resources Project located in Elkford, BC.
Requirements

• Must have valid a Journeyperson ticket as an Instrumentation Technician (additional preferred tickets: Gas Fitter, Electrician).
• Proficient with Canadian Electrical code (CSA 22.1) and must have working knowledge of use of electricity in mines (CSA M421)
• Must be experienced and proficient with troubleshooting of instrumentation systems including, without limitation: field devices, control panels, instrumentation circuitry, industrial networks, control valves and accessories, final element actuators, etc.
• Must have knowledge of control systems and the ability to perform multi-device control loop verifications.
• Must be experienced and have a good understanding of Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), and safe working procedures.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on instrumentation commissioning experience performing pre-commissioning checks, static commissioning, and dynamic commissioning activities.
• Valid Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) ticket.
• Valid Confined Space ticket.
• Valid H2S ticket.
• Valid Fall Protection ticket.
Shift Information
-
Current schedule is a 14/7 dayshift rotation.

Minimum 10 hours per day with over time after 6.5 hours daily.

Must be willing to work additional overtime and weekends when required.

Camp is provided.

Rotational Travel Allowance to cover travel costs outside of the travel free radius of 75 km from camp.

A shuttle bus is provided for craft flying into the Calgary airport.
Additional Information
Upon an offer, all candidates must be able to pass a SureHire Drug and Alcohol test, a 50 lb Fitness to Work test and a Half Mask Fit.

Line Creek Operations is located approximately 12 kilometers from the community of Elkford, in southeastern British Columbia. It is one of our four steelmaking coal operations in the Elk Valley operating since 2015.
